Less than impressed with the SOGfari

That's just pathetic. Not surprised, though. Condor/Imacasa, Cold Steel, Tramontina, or Hansa will get you a lot more machete for your money. Sorry you got burned--try contacting their Customer Service department. Maybe they can make better of this situation. :o

I did, and they want me to mail it in. For the money it'll cost to mail it in i might as well go to the store and buy a new one? Ohh well
 
So sog decided to send me a new machete from me just sending them pictures. I'm glad I'm getting a new machete but I hope this doesn't happen with the new one
 
Cheapness aside, isn't it a little dangerous? Could the whole thing break off, go flying into a by stander? Bounce back at your face? A cheap machete is one thing, but I just wouldn't trust that model.
 
That's good they're sending you a new one. There must have been some serious flaw in the original to chip out like that. Good luck with round 2!
 
Yeah I actually had a conversation with my friend about it completely breaking off and flying who knows where and hurting someone. They decided to send me a new one before i sent the pictures but they needed them just to prove it's broken. If the second one breaks I'll let you guy know and I'm never buying another sog machete. I had a trident and I beat that thing o death and it still works amazing so it's not all their products, just their machetes
 
I also just noticed looking at the thing that right below it is bent inwards and looks like it was about to chip off too, and above it too. If I wouldn't have noticed the first two, I think the whole machete would have broken and that wouldn't have been good
