I recently bought a knife on the exchange. I won't name the seller but it would be simple enough for any of you to find out whom, it was my last transaction. Anyhow, prior to the buy I checked the seller's feedback & since it was + proceeded. The seller was willing to give me time to pay off the knife since I didn't have enough money, just a deposit, so I appreciated that. Three wks. was given actually. I received the knife right after I paid it off, it was pretty much mint, as described, so all went well. So why am I posting, right? Well, after the deal i posted some very + feedback comments on the seller but then later discovered some quite negative reports on him after simply entering his username in the search window. I felt foolish after giving him glowing marks, however, he did do me right. I can only hope he turned over a new leaf because shame on anyone (and I'm not saying he did or didn't) here who intentionally misrepresents, lies, cheats or rips off other members. There are a lot of great members here & I hate seeing it happen.
So I learned to dig a little deeper than just the + & - percentages & basic comments. Members have said umpteen times - do your homework! How true it is. I've been fortunate - I haven't been ripped off as of yet. Another member & good friend found several of my knives, he has far, far more experience than I but I'm learning. Thanks in part to you-the fine members of this outstanding forum. Sorry for the diatribe.

Looks like the person you're referring to deserves positive feedback from you. He treated you right, you got time to pay for a knife you otherwise may not have.
It's good to take other people's opinion into consideration, but it's kinda like a movie review, if you enjoy the movie, then what others thought about it really doesn't matter.

The FB is asking you how that one particular transaction went for you. That is all. Whatever a person did in past deals is of no consequence to the FB you leave for the transaction you did.

Why would you feel foolish for giving someone great feedback, when YOUR transaction went great ?

Lots of people start off on the wrong foot here. They can come in many forms, smart asses, know-it-alls, BS artists, you name it. Over time they either mellow, get with the program,o or find themselves looking for another place that accepts that kind of behavior as acceptable. We've also had some members with excellent feedback go the way of the hammer and lose their access here because they failed to communicate, failed to deliver, bit off more than they could chew and figured if they hid out on Facebook, Instagram, etc things would blow over. See just about everything happen that can. WE take a dim view on this kind of behavior in general. If someone has no integrity and cannot honor their word they don't stick around.

I just did a deal with the same guy and all went well. I knew of the complaints and decided to go with the deal regardless because the knife he had was a special one to me (birthday). The knife was as exactly described. I am happy with the transaction and left positive feedback as I should have.
