We all collect but which knives end up as go to users. The ones we don’t care end up bloody, dirty, chipped, over sharpened etc.

I do use my Buck Thug. Buck Slim Pro 110 in micarta. Once in awhile I’ll use the Buck Custom Bowie. Ok, one yellow 898 with Damasteel I’ll pack also I purchased from Caleb.

These three, users, are out for my EDC. I didn't think the 110 Slim Pro would be as comfortable to carry as it is. It finds it way into my pocket a lot.

My main fixed blade users are a 118, 105, 103 and a 121. There are a few others that I have carried out into the field with the intention of using but not had the opportunity. I'll dig them out tomorrow and get a photo.

The slim pro series. Light. Full size but feels like nothing in the pocket. I asked if Buck could use Titanium scales again with take apart construction and a pocket clip. Wasnt told no but wasnt told yes either.
I would have a pocket clip installed on one of my 560 or 186 knives if i knew someone who could do it.

If the Thug was still available (and I wish it was), I’d buy one and use it. I used my new 3V 104 a lot on a recent trip to the Shenandoah Mountains. The rehandled Reaper is also a user. If I have a knife that I don’t use, it’s because I don’t like it, not because it’s a collectible.

I take this twin set every year to elk camp, have for thirty or more years. It's been bloody and dirty and...the 118 story that I've told before...

I bought the 118 in the PX in 1969-70. The 103 and sheath were bought separate, later.
I used it on my first deer, about 1977 and dulled it in the course of cleaning and processing.

My first attempts at sharpening it the following year were dismal. It took me the year to learn how to sharpen that 440C and then only because I gave up on the Arkansas stone that came in the Buck sharpening kit and used regular sharpening stones, probably aluminum or carbide oxide.

I was pleased and proud of my sharpening. It made short work of field dressing the next year's. The 103 the skinning. Back home in one of my hunting partner's garage we were readying to processing the meat. While I was laying everything out my partner asked where my knife was. Thinking that he was just going to bring me it I told him it was in my pack.

Next I heard the sound of an electric sharpener grinding on a blade, it was my 118 that I had spent so much time on sharpening. He really thought he was doing good...I was horrified!

My 118 that's pictured above that was subjected to an electric knife sharpener...

Creaky Bones Creaky Bones A good looking reaper you have there. Wondering about the specifics about the handle and who did the work. Looks great.
It’s homemade burlap ”micarta”. West Systems resin and a dozen or so layers of burlap. I did the rehandling myself. Much more hand filling, comfort level about a bazillion times better than the stock handles.

All of my true users I have gifted away to guys and gals who worked for me over the years. A lot of folks were very happy! Nearly all of the ones that I have left are not even carried, much less used.

Buck 422 Bucklite from the mid 1980s. I got it in a giveaway on another forum and it's identical to my first real Buck that I received from my father when I was in college. That knife rode on my belt and got a lot of use. I wish I knew where it was, but the knife in the photo is an excellent substitute. It does some decent feathersticking.

A BassPro Buck 110, CPM154, coated blade. You can see a little of the blade is missing from a few years of use and sharpening.

1st year was hollow ground. All years after we’re full flat grind.
