Let me count the ways I love my K390 Endura

See that's where I'm a bit weird I like shiny knives and even when I get some staining or scratches I'm too OCD to leave them there. If I were to take some very fine steel wool to a k390 blade would it bring it back to patina free? Sometimes I use my knives at restaurants to cut salty steaks and they don't really get a good washing till I get home and that would probably patina up a k390 blade pretty bad wouldn't it? Because that poor practice has even stained a satin VG10 blade and I had to buff it out. H1 on the other couldn't care less what I do to it haha
Try Flitz for removing patina. One tube should last forever. I generally don’t bother but have used to clean up blades before

You guys are making me want to try k390!
I get lots of rain/snow here so I tend to prefer folders that may get neglected for a while after use to be stainless, but so much praise for this steel is hard to ignore.

I just tried using flitz, not to remove patina but to polish the edges of the blade around the pivot hole and the bottom of the lever that touched the blade while opening and closing. It might work for patina but I didn't notice much happening with the blade sides definitely was not anymore polished or mirrored. Using a felt cylinder on a Dremel with flitz. The stainless lever part was mirrored as would be any normal metal I've ever touched with flitz/dremel. I think the k390s a little much for the abrasive in flitz. Looking back i should've put a dab of 3 micron diamond strop paste on the dremel felt tip. That would've got it polished.

I did use my fingertip and rub the washers around on .5 micron diamond strop. That knifes drop shut smooth now like my pm2.

what about evaporust? You can remove the blade then just drop it in it overnight and reassemble. Probably can just drop it in whole too

Why worry about it? Try it. I've carried mine in winters/snow. The only time I've had a little spotting of rust was summer when I was drenched in sweat for over 8 hours. I just gutted a deer with mine and rinsed it out. If it rusts too much you can always put it away for a bit till its drier

Not worried- it sounds like great steel. I only mentioned it because frequently I get drenched in snow for hours snowmachining or doing chores at my remote cabin, and it can be a while before tending to blades. Now I just need to figure out which model to try.

Stretch 2 is my favorite for mid/larger and Delica for small. The stretch reminds me of what a PM 2 would be like if they made it in FRN (dimension wise at least, locks are different). Hard to go wrong however, I really like my Endura and Endella(s) as well.

I carry a PM2 and M2 daily, and Endura’s as chore knives. I like all the Spyderco’s I have (10) but have not handled the Endela or Stretch 2. Decisions to make..🤣

K390 has become my favorite steel. I don’t want to get too off topic but there is a question I’ve had for a while. Has anyone else noticed that the tang marks on the newer Delicas are different? They appear to be laser engraved and not as deep as seen on the other models I have in my picture. All were purchased from a reputable dealer. IMG_2860.jpeg

The Endella Wharncliffe I have with me today is stamped but shallow and thinner than other spydercos that I have. They do seem different on the K390s but this could be due to K390 steel itself? Harder, etc??
Posting a link below which shows that patina is actually obscuring some of the stamp on that knife (my Delica) which makes me think that the stamps are different on the k-390

The Endura is great in all varieties.
It’s a dang near perfect knife for knife stuff. It’s beauty is in it’s simplicity, performance, and ratio of cutting power : footprint. A Masterpiece that won't break the bank, and is truly much more than the sum of it’s parts & materials (even when accounting for K390)!
And the Seki knives I’ve been getting lately are top-notch (I had a dud or two several years back).

I have a SE K390 Endura that’s kind of a beater, and is starting to get some patina. It’s one of my on-purpose hard users.
My PE K390 Endura waits patiently to get into action; It might find a permanent home with my Jeep & off roading gear.

I’ve been partial to my PD-1 Endura since picking it up earlier this year. It’s displaced everything out of my pocket, save the occasional Ulttratech. A strop here & there and she stays at the ready!

Agreed. I believe it to be one of their best designs... I only wish they would make it with a wire clip!
