Let me introduce you to knife 6 for me.

She's a great little skinner that has been a long time coming.

She began life over 2 years ago but had to take a side line to a new born and a prolonged illness with the wife.

Now that the little one is older and the wife is doing better I was able to pick her back up again. In the interum I upgraded from the 1x30 used to bevel her before to a really nice NWGS 2x72. Oh my, what a difference. This one had already been heat treated but I had to rework the bevels. They were just way too thick.

She's made up of O1 wearing Brazilian Rosewood handles with a hand stitched sheath.

This was my first attempt at contouring the handle with a palm swell. Oh, what a difference it made. The 2" contact wheel made it easy.

This one is going to my boss and he has been a very patient man. I've got to finish the sharpening and will have to mark it with my new logo when the stencils get here.

Anyway, comments, suggestions and critiques are always welcomed. I'm here to learn.

Thanks for looking.

Nice. I think it would be a lot more comfortable to use and flow a little better if you rounded off that 90 degree corner in front of the finger guard.

It is slightly rounded but I will double check it to make sure it's comfortable.

Thanks,

It looks nice. Shape and styling is good.

My observations are that the palm swell looks good, but the top and bottom might have been rounded down onto the sides a bit more, as Cory noted. That will have to wait for your next knife.
The other thing I spot is the very end of the blade edge, at the finger choil....it needs to be just slightly touched to the 400 grit belt to put a small 45 degree corner on it. That will take the sharp spot off the place next to where the finger rests, and should be optically more pleasing. It doesn't need to be much, but a tiny facet will make a big difference in the look of the blade.

Another tip is to try and avoid the handle scales coming to a sharp tip at the ricasso. That tiny area, coming to a point, perpendicular to the grain...can easily break off with any bump. It looks really good, but is inherently weak.

Yep, just what Stacy said.
Looks GREAT though, @ #6 I was still cutting bushes with knife like objects that I threw out the back of the shop.

Doing good, keep up the good work. Jerry

Thanks for the comments and the suggestions. I'm getting ready to start #7 and #8. Thought I would try making two of the same style. I will incorporate the suggestions into these knives.

Love learning.

Very nice, I like the sheath with the aged look. Very curious about the palm swell on the handle. I really like that look.

Thanks. I like leather that looks like leather. Meaning I don't buy the best leather out there. I like it to have marks and such on it. Helps that I have a local Tandy and can go pick it out and the fact that they don't sell the best leather anyway.

The palm swell is something I will do lots of. Really locks the knife into the hand. I used the 2" contact wheel. Worked great.
