This is a 7.5" drop point that I made out of 1095, the handle is spalted hackberry that was stabilized. Take a look let me know what you guys think, don't hold back I can take criticism and I am going to need it if I am going to get any better. Your friends and family only tell you how good they think your doing so I need some more discerning eyes to take a look.

Thanks for taking a look.

Very novice here, but aesthetically I would say the blade is great. The handle is finished nicely but I would prefer a bit more of a profile to it. I think if the hand fell a bit further into the grip and the shaping you've done was more pronounced you'd have something really nice.

Still a great looking blade, the handle just seems a little beefy for my taste. I love the match of the handle to the blade color wise.

I would have to echo what Merls touched upon. The blade is done exceptionally well, although I wish the hamon line was brought closer to the spine. The handle can have a more pronounced choil followed by a curved transition to the butt of the blade, so that it's not just a straight angle at the butt. (Hehe )

Good definition on the Hamon. Now you need to practice/ strive to bring out more activity in it. Very nice knife

I agree on the handle. How many blades have you made? I have yet to make one so take with a grain of salt. But from someone who uses knives camping and such, that handle could use a bit more definitely and seems beefy. Maybe a better perspective in your hand to get a better idea of size?

That is a nice hamon (to me). Again I'm no expert but I can only hope to get something like that.

I would say that are lots of good things about it, but the over all design is lacking some thing. The blade seems quite chunky for the length, and the handle could use more shape. Thinner at the front end bigger at the butt end. make some cardboard templates and work out the design there and you will do great.
Keep at it
Nice

Cool blade and awesome picture. Are the three pins in line? The middle one looks like it's a little too low.

Thanks for all the tips guys, I have made probably about 8 of these and I have given them to a few friends and family members and the only feedback I get back is positive and its hard to make effective design modifications without people telling me whats wrong with it. I will try to make the whole design a little less chunky and a little more well defined as well as contour the handle a little more next time. Thanks guys!
