Let the jealousy commence, part the first

Great score Spooky! I've always wanted one and snagged one about a year ago. I've got the newer (re-released) version with the Accu-trigger which I really like. I have a Burris scout scope on it and it's a joy to shoot. It's surprising how light these rifles are but still comfortable to shoot. I've been torn on having see-thru mounts or QD mounts...the iron sights are excellent and I usually start off a shooting session with them. I haven't been able to do any hunting in the last few years (deployments and preparing to deploy:grumpy:), but this is what I'll be using next hunting season as I'm pretty certain I'll have a little stability.

Nice rifle! I've been eyeballing those Savage scouts for some time. I think they're definately the best deal in a "real" scout rifle. Looking forward to hearing how she shoots!

I just put in an order for one of these! Can't wait to pick it up. Does anyone know the item/model number for replacement magazines?

That is nice.
I have been looking at the new Ruger Scout rifle.

Nice score! My "grail" rifle for a long time was a scout version of the S.A. M-1A. By the time I found one I could afford guns no longer held quite the appeal to me they once had. I have been thinking about getting another bolt action though, distance shooting is a good focus exercise for me.

Had one. Got rid of it as quickly as I could.
The first one I picked up took the magazine in and wouldn't release it. The gun shop guy handed me the other one he had on the shelf. This "jewel" chucked out the mag every time it fired. I took it back and got a Remington 700 (not a scout, but it worked).

I hope you guys have better luck. Hopefully Savage fixed the problem, but it will probably be a cold day in hell before I buy another Savage.
