I feel your dial-up pain. I'm on a 31k connection.... Old house, old wire, bad connections, too far from town for DSL, cable modem, whathaveyou...
Too many trees for satellite......
 
But, the good news is that I only have to put up with my neighbors from a distance... Nearest is a couple hundred yards from the house....
