Does the fragrance industry ever use fungi? Lots of fungi have interesting smells. For example, have you ever smelt candy caps (Lactarius fragilis)? Depending on various factors, they'll have a smell either like maple syrup, curry, or a combination. They smell so potent that a few will make your whole house smell like maple syrup for days.
