This was forwarded to me this morning by A.G.; let's all hope that Paul is well on the road to recovery
Many of your people would be interested to know that Paul Basch, a
dealer in knives and a directior of the NKCA had a heart attack Sat
night following the Chattanooga Show, was hospitised and while being
tested had another attack and underwent emergency tripple bypass
surgury. He is in recovery and the doctor says that he is responding
very well and is expected to be discharged in about three or four days.

His friends are asked not to call the hospital but to call J.T. at
501-8725200 who will have the currant information at all times.

Thanks,

A. G. Russell

Let's hope he gets back soon, because a knife show without Paul Basch ain't a real knife show!

Get well soon, Paul!

I don't know the man, but I have said a prayer for him. We need all of the KnifeKnutts we can get.

I want to wish Paul a full and speedy recovery. He's a really nice guy. Thanks Spark, for passing along the information.

What a Shock!! Paul and I talked for about an hour and a half at the NKCA Show Saturday and while he didn't seem overly cheerful (as he rarely does anyway) he also didn't seem to be in any discomfort. We Traded a couple of knives and had a very good visit.

I'm very Sorry to hear about this but Thanks for posting it.

Paul knows more about custom knives than any man alive, and he has probably bought more custom knives than anyone else ever has. On top of that he is a dear friend, for whom I made a knife this past fall, a gift for the many times he has encouraged me. My prayers are certainly with him. As Brian said, it just wouldn't be a knife show without Paul.

Best wishes Paul, hurry up back.

I bought my first custom knife from Paul years ago at the NY Custom Show. Had a nice talk with him at this year's show.
I doubt there's anybody with more custom knife knowledge and he was one of the first full time dealers.
