Latest knife. It was partly done for a while now. Finally finished it. Incredibly comfortable. I will do more with this type handle. Only needs a little rounding in the guard area. I only have to figure out a sheath

6.5" OAL
2.5" blade
1095 (0.25")
Bloodwood scales and brass pins
Hamon: Fake ;) (Fecl Etch)

I'll get better pics tomorrow if the sun comes out.
Comments and critique welcome of course.

I actually quite like that.:)
Maybe a bit of jimping on the spine would be a nice touch, but cool overall.

Nice, +1 on the jimping, Im a big fan of skinny handles and this un is skinnay... nice job.

looks really good. Do you engrave your makers mark or is it etched/stamped? I'm looking for some sort of stamp and not having much luck?

Thanks for the good words guys.

I love the bloodwood John, especially until I can buy higher quality stabilized woods.

The mark is etched but I am having a hard time getting this right. It's getting better but still a long way to go.

Thanks again.

Hey Patrice great knife!

It reminds me of a modern version of one of these type knives. As you may or may not know one of my primary interests is 1800's style knives. There is a great debate as too wheter there is truly historical documention of such a knife existing. They were supposed to be made from the trap spings of white mans traps used in the times of the fur trade and Mountain Man here in the U.S., in the late 1700's and early 1800's!

I googled trap sping knives and this is one of the sites that popped up, (so you can see what I am talking about)!

Thanks for the link Dixie. Again it shows that pretty much any knife you come up with, no matter how much you try to make it unique, has been done one way or another.

Thanks again for the encouraging words guys.

Hey don't feel bad I had this wicked idea I thought for a blade a while back and didn't remember ever seeing one like. Till I was go thru some stuff on a site about Anglo-Saxon times and there is a freaking blade almost identical to the one I had designed.
Guess it goes like the old saying ,”what is old will be new again” or something like that!!!!!!!!
I look at it like this its new to me!
