Lets compile list of SF/Military knives that are actually used by such units.

The Glock fieldknife used by the austrian army...

The SEK (Sonder Einsatzkommando= special forces) produced by Eickhorn used by German special forces and apparently the german naval forces( im not quite sure on that)

they were junk, I saw 2 different ones, found 1 and like a dumbass gave it away.

good times in the desert. I found 3 different ones; the multi tool style, the box cutter, and a small folding one in a tin case. but i dont remember what i did whith them.

nobodxy, SEK are not military units, they are state or city SWAT police units in Germany.
The Eickhorn is used for emergency rope cutting, not weapon purposes. Just like the small Kershaw diving dagger, the Amphibian.

The German Bundeswehr uses the KM2000 tanto style knife, the KSK special units use the Boker Applegate with black finish.

But the thing is, there is no specific, for example, Navy Seals knife that they are issued or use on mission. Most "Operators" use whatever works best and is avaliable at the moment. Still, i would like to, with your assistence, compile a list of knives that are 1. actually beeing used by Special Operations Units, 2. where made with those units in mind and 3. are supposedly condoned/approved by them.
Regarding their SRK fixed blade, Cold Steel states it "is the standard issue knife of the Navy SEALs for their BUDs or, their Basic Underwater Demolition training"

My father, in Vietnam, carried an issued Randall knife. These knives were and still are manufactured in a small facility here in Orlando Florida. I know little about it other than he said it had saved his life. I know Randall knives are, one, expensive, and two, highly collectable. His was left in an army shower in Saigon 1966 after two years in country. Btw he left everything there and just came home.

There are no real special issue knives given to SF or general warriors...that's always been a personal choice, and like the much ballyhoo'd Luminox "Navy SEAL" watch, any reference by any manufacturer that their knife(ves) are standard issue to special operators is, at best, stretching the truth. Insofar as certain fixed blades being issued to infantry units, that does occur, and typically is a KB or an Ontario...and that's assuming you're not a rear ender, and that you will actually be deployed outside the wire. Now, the only military force that has consistently issued a knife to their soldiers has been the Swiss, with either a Wenger or Victorinox. Lastly, having a NSN number only means that a rear echelon supply type can order such an item and stock the PX/Exchange...if you do a search, you will find a NSN number for Fruit of the Loom skivvies.

Don't let the myth die.
A knife is so much more than a cutting tool.
I too find the idea to carry/own a knife of a hero appealing.

Besides is it really so absurd to think that pros use professional equipment?
Completely understand the avaliability and the price thing (as for loosing stuff), otoh when I do make experience, I usually learn from it.
i.g.: I carry lighter knife when hiking.
