Let's discuss wharncliffe and sheepsfoot blades.

You should handle a BM 550HG to get answers to all your questions. I think this knife embodies the best of all worlds, but YMMV.
I own a 555-1. So I have that experience in 20CV and like I said, I do like modified sheepsfoot a lot. My only minor complaint with this particular blade is I wish the blade stock overall was just a wee bit thinner.

I like a lot the ease of sharpening and very pointy tip, ideal for draw cuts and starting piercing cuts, and as said things don't slide off the blades like happens with bellies and curves

I prefer them mostly on fixed blades, though

I second full metaljackass. The sheepsfoot on the griptilian is a very useful shape. The point drops slightly so one could use it to cut off one of those event paper bracelets without digging into the skin with the point. Also, i highly recommend the benchmade 940 series as well because they are kind of like a wharnecliffe/drop point/pen knife hybrid; straight edge on back 3/4ths of blade with with a pen knife/drop point type belly and point.

I like wharncliffes and sheepsfoot blades and especially on slipjoints ... I usually have one in my pocket besides a modern folder with a pocket clip and prefer a drop point or Insingo style blade for that. The wharncliffe probably gets used more then the other blades for small everyday tasks.

If I had to choose only one blade shape for me it would be a drop point with a big belly ... good at basically every task ... even though there may be better for some chores ... but those don't have the versatility to do the wide spectrum that a good drop point does ... IMHO.
