The biggest problem here is this....

After a guy gets a Nobel Peace Prize......

Most other awards or gifts become pretty insignificant.

The way to do it would be to make the knife impartial and not political. It wouldn't be an award to a President for his/her policies, but an honor to our nation's highest office and to whoever won that office by democratic process.

To fairly do this you wouldn't award it to the current President, but to the next one, whoever it turns out to be. It and the subsequent limited edition for subscribers would be released at the time of the inauguration. And so on.

Otherwise it could get so tangled up in polarized opinions it wouldn't do anyone any good.

Could have been worse. We could have had Crash McCain and Dopey Sarey.

At least, though.......Palin would appreciate a knife. She'd probably carry a fancied-up ivory-handled 124 to her inaugural ball.

McCain would probably cut himself......or maybe accidentally stick Al Franken.
 
This thread is a disaster. There is no proper place for it on BF. Too much political backbiting, and I'm certainly not dumping it in the Political Arena when that wasn't the original intention of the thread. Closed.
