It's been said before many times, but I'm going to say it again. Absolute perfection! One of the great achievements that Chris accomplished while refining his folders (on top of everything else) was to design what is arguably the industry's greatest pocket clip!
In my experience (and it seems I share these experiences with a lot of folk) these following attributes confirm to me that the clip is worth talking about:
1 - The clip does not lose tension (a property of high quality titanium)
2 - The clip does not come loose and wiggle side to side (it is of course sitting in a perfectly machined pocket)
3 - The clip does not snag/jam when clipping the knife to jeans (all of the angles and corners are perfectly designed and rounded, and set perfectly for jeans. I can slide this knife into pocket and engage the clip in the dark, with the wrong hand, not even thinking about it, no problem)
4 - The knife does not ride up in pocket (due to that nifty second fold)
5 - The clip is reasonably comfortable in hand (yes there is controversy on it's placement, both on the 25 and Umnumzaan, but the clip itself is pretty darn comfortable as clips go)
6 - The clip looks good (I really like the character that develops on the clips over time, with some shiny parts, snail trails etc. I also like that it is mounted with only one screw)
7 - The clip does not break if you snag it and have to bend it back (I have bent a couple of mine back after hooking them on a door frame....no problem....you'd never know)
8 - You can buy an insert filler if you want to remove it (thanks Chris, that's awfully generous to have thought of that!)
9 - You can buy a new clip easily if you lose it (no special order request required)
10 - The clip has only one mounting location so you don't have ugly unfilled/extra holes (because CRK is nice enough to offer dedicated lefty knives)
So your buddy asks you: "Why would you pay $450 for a folding knife" and you answer: "because it has the worlds greatest pocket clip dude, don't you know anything?"
