Ok, Rick was being truthful and logical. Desoto closed old thread on PhotoBucket because we, including me, were not figuring out our issues but just trashing PhotoBucket.
If you take the time to log in using your old account and click on updating your PB account you will be presented with other options than $400 a year costs. I have updated my account by doing a $5.99 / month cost account. All my photos have been restored. So, if I chose or am lazy it will cost me $60 a year. But, I now have thinking time to deal with things, as these charges are actually $5.99 per month and I can cancel anytime. I will be charged monthly.
As Bert has pointed to me the action of using ANY online storage facility is a risk for loss of your photos if you do not store them on your own computer or better yet a dedicated backup disc. I lost a few of my early knife and hunting photos when my CPU suddenly died. I can use my own computer to insert photos on BladeForums. I know some of you use your phones or tablets and may not have adequate memory. This situation you will have to work out. Maybe some one of you who is smarter than me can come up with a decent solution(s) to share.
As I told Bert, I was keeping large SIZED photos I took on my own computer, say 2500 X 2500 pixels, which required large MBs of memory. I guess I thought Hollywood would discover me one day and I would be famous. Ha. All I or you need to keep is a photo with one side no larger than 850 pixels for good computer showing. I was down sizing my photos to that size before putting them in PhotoBucket. So in actuality I was wasting my time. I can directly put them on BladeForums from my Photoshop appt. skipping a third party.
Lets stop venting and figure out how best to store your Buck knife photos however you access Bladeforums. We will need to modify the sticky on how to post photos when these methods are proved workable.
You still may have bad feelings on how this situation occurred, but in reality it is a wake-up call for each of us to rethink our efforts in taking good knife photos. Once again as Bert pointed out to me, we need to do this for the future. We likely have lost our ability to go back an access some past members photos, lets not let that happen to yours.
Please lets have positive discussion only. 300Bucks
