That happened to mine too, there was a point where the scales would stick to the tang like they were epoxied on, and that was without screws.

I've owned one becker with scales and never touched the screws so...no.

To be fair, I did state that the prize was a double thumb up reply post, and it was stated several times in the course of this thread that it was more of a just for fun/not an actual contest type thing. As a matter of fact, the first line in the OP STRONGLY hints at this being a for fun type thread.
