Let's Play Minnie Brit Winnnie!!!!

Doing SHOTS WITH BLUE LABEL?!?!?! Shots are what Canadian Club is for ;)

Sure -- why not? I tend to use blends for that purpose. It opens the eyes and expands the senses (if you only knock back a few)!

When it's time to sip, I'll move to the older MacAllans, a Highland Park, or perhaps that bottle of Longrow I've avoided opening. No water, natch.

I've tapped the 1981 Gold Medal. Let's get busy.

Yunmnmjmy!

Longrow? Do tell... I'm not familiar with this one. (making note for next trip to liquor store)

I will be knee deep into The MaCallan 18 along with some Montecristo #2s next week while I am in Aruba.

Many folks consider Springbank the 'classic' distillery in the Campbeltown region of Scotland. Campbeltown is near the end of a peninsula on the southwestern side of Scotland -- the Mull of Kintyre. Once home to 30 distilleries, this area has only a few left (three I think?). Still, these whiskies are well-regarded and serious addicts consider Campbeltown its own "region" (like the other well-known regions such as Speyside and Islay).

Every once in awhile, when conditions seem right, Springbank produces a 'special' single malt -- the Longrow. It's made from wholly peat-dried malt and the spirit is distilled an unusual 2 and a half times.

I'm told the name Longrow comes from the old name for the street where several distilleries used to stand in the mid-nineteenth century. Curiously, only Glenfiddich and Springbank bottle their whisky on site these days...

My surviving bottle of Longrow has a lovely golden color. It is very peaty and pungent with a medium body. I expect it is as flavorful as the first bottle I (eventually) downed. The finish is long and slow...very intense and distinctive.

Damn. Now I'll have to open that bottle for just a single sip...

Too bad I am sick, I have a bottle of Pig's Nose and a whole case of Johnny Walker Blue sitting here. It is a shame really.

I am about to crack open a bottle of Deschutes Cinder Cone that a friend sent me...

Its' a drihkingf game so bring your livers!!!

I don't need a liver, it only filtewrs out my next drunk anyhow. Woirking on my 3rd 5th of Captain's tonight, moving to the Sailor Jerry's next. Chasing with beer of course.

I was having a chat with Capt'n Morgan when work called, another break-in. 4 hours later, (at double time!!), we're resuming our discussion on red heads, trade ins and truck boxes. Yes they all have something in common. (I'm sticking with brunetts thank you, less likely to become a statistic of your own collection that way!)

Hey Jerry...you still drinkin?! I need to find a bartender. :grumpy:
