You can't beat a Busse....
Oh wait, yes you can......
You can beat it through just about anything.
Seriously though, I am pretty sure you have set yourself a mighty challange, and I hope you can succeed to some degree. Hours and hours have I searched the web and have come to the conclusion that Busse stands as the very best in hard use knives. I wish Noss's videos were still on YouTube, he literally beat and grossly abused a Battle Mistress (with the intention of breaking it) until he gave up. This isn't to say they won't break, but they seem to take 10x the beatings most other competitor's do (we are talking big name's with big claim's).
Good Luck and make sure to send me a prototype![]()
just an fyi so no one is confused, Noss did break that Battle Mistress. It took an insane amount of force, but it did break.
One thing to consider with Busse is there are knives that will out perform a Busse knife in individual areas. There are some with better edge retention for example, but Busse has an overall performance ratio that is difficult of not next to impossible to equal.
To have your knife even compared to a Busse is an honor...
Musta missed that one, how did he end up breaking it?
I believe that he locked the blade into a large vise and repeatedly beat on it with both hands and all of his might using a 5 Pound sledge hammer.
Maybe its the Rat in me coming out but for my uses the Swamp beats Busseand the great thing is I know for sure I am not the only one who feels this way SR101 is just freaking amazing.
