Almost exactly 20 years ago I bought an indian kukri from a well-known catalog based in Georgia. I still have it. It's a decent chopper but the quality and cleaving ability doesnt come close to matching an H.I. khuk. Years later I bought another one from the same catalog but not long after I shattered the handle.
Not long after this I was looking for something better and found H.I. only days after Uncle Bill passed to the next world.
I bought a 20" Ang Khola by Kumar and a wee lil Kagas Katne for my wife.
After using the AK heavily, brutally, for a couple years I was back for a 25" Sirupati, then I soon snagged a DoTD 21" horn-handled Chitlangi...
... and now I can never leave...
When I'm not carrying a H.I. khukuri in the woods, I'm carrying an ATC Rogers' Rangers spike tomahawk with either an old beat-up camillus 'kabar' clone or a BK&T Hog Hunter Bowie or #7 Combat/Utility.
Or other...
Depends. I have literally hundreds of blades to choose from.
