I do love the razor-sharp polished edge that the KME system puts on my Beckers.

Couple more shots in better light! The KME makes it easy.

tradewater, is that your sharpener in the photo? Is that set to the correct angle so you just push against it and it "just works"?

Some durn nice edges in this thread.

It's hard to tell from these pics just how sharp this thing is. Reprofiled and convexed freehand on the Craftsman 2x42 then polished with W/D up to 2000 and stropped green then white. I actually surprised the hell outta myself on this one. I usually don't get the greatest edges on my stuff, IMO....but this one (even though I've used the W/D method before)....something different happened. Maybe it's the thinner edge, maybe the tall convex....it cuts great but I haven't used it much 'cause I'm afraid I won't get the edge back to the way it is now. Slicing paper. Fun.
This thread reminds me: I found some diamond paste 50% off a couple months ago and I am now thinking I need to make a couple more strops.

Hey TD, how are you liking that worksharp?

Its pretty nice. I'm still learning though and have ruined a few blades (all crappy kitchen stuff) in the process. I haven't used it in a while because its not here with me at the moment.

Granite, that is one seriously weaponized Becker. Nicely done.
