Lets see some fieldtacs!!!

If someone would sell me one I'd happily post pics......pretty hard to get hold of, specially from this end of the globe.

Jay, I know you have looking for a fieldtac for some time, I will keep my eyes peeled for you...as much as i'd like a second one I'd like to see you score one. I guess I have a soft spot for Kiwis and Aussies...must be that cool accent of yours....actually it's much better on a female....ahhhh I digress lol

I had a WTB Thread up for a certain fixed blade hinderer, and a couple guys here (maprik and Bwilson) gave me a heads up where one could be found.... and i liberated it in short order!

I am one who appreciates the comradery that comes along with knife collecting.

I have been collecting hinderers for a bit but haven't been very vocal on this sub forum, read most of the threads and lurked a bit and decided its time to get a bit more involved like i have in other sub forums in the past.

regards Jeff

Cheers Jeff, much appreciated

I'm a kiwi in training, still have an English accent just like those bad guys in the movies......only I'm a good guy mostly.

Jay, that's cool...the English accent is almost as cool,(not sure which part of England you are from)I was in London last year and its such a cool place it's where I proposed to my finance.

Well actually in Windsor at the castle ;)

Yup I'm that romantical for a rugged Hinderer dude

Nice touch, that ought to score some brownie points.

I'm from Cornwall but without the local accent, mine is generic English.

Cornwall has played a very important part in Rick Hinderer knives, lets see if you can guess what????

Jay, I'm guessing it has to do with all the early mining done In Cornwall for metals?

I am so glad that I get to revive this thread. I looked for years for a fieldtac and was lucky enough to land one today. This thing is just a beast! I cant believe that a piece of steel almost 1/4 inch thick can shave my arm. I love the working finish, and the spearpoint is just awesome. This knife will be seeing some action during hunting season this year. Hopefully!

Oh my god! I'm just soaking in the pictures, great addition to your stable, the pile gets higher my friend!

Thanks f.o. I'm loving it so far. I wish I could edc it but I think people might be uncomfortable. Haha.

Take that to school and "lock down" would last a week! When I was in high school the shop teacher taught us how to sharpen our knives, nobody thought of them as weapons.

I still do that also. I have a weps for my lab. I wouldn't bring that bad boy in though. I just bring in a little lockback for demonstration purposes. I think it is a good thing for a young man to know how to sharpen a tool properly. I teach them how to sharpen chisels and lawn mower blades as well.

Good for you, I grew up on a farm so at an early age you were taught how to maintain your tools. Seems like sharpening, especially freehand is becoming a lost art. Kudos to you my friend for passing on this knowledge to the next generation!

My old man is a contractor and I was taught the same lesson as a boy, and it stuck. I worked on my neighbors farm for several years also. I purchase the best quality tools i can afford, and i treat my tools with care so that they will last a lifetime. I'm not great at freehand sharpening but I can get a decent edge. I love my w.e though. It makes getting a crazy sharp edge idiot proof.

Fieldtacs are cool and that's a darn nice one!

I'm still in want of a Flashpoint and FXM myself.

Thanks Jeff! I couldn't be happier with it. It will be a good companion in the woods this fall.

Great pics, I hadn't really considered the RHK fixed blades since I'm pretty fat on fixed hunters and skinners but that thing is making me reconsider.. sounds like it was quite the effort tracking one down though - bet it feels good to have found it!

Nice ink, btw - very bright, is it new?
