Specs on the new Hinderer XM-18 3.0 Skinny *LINER LOCK* coming soon:

Overall Length 7.00"
Blade Length 3.00"
Sharpened Length 2.63"
Blade Thickness 0.12"
Blade Material CPM-20CV
Blade Type Stainless
Blade Rockwell 60-61 HRC
Opening Mechanism Flipper
Lock Liner Lock
Closed Length 4.13"
Handle Thickness 0.415"
Handle Material G10
Liner(s) Titanium
Clip Titanium
Weight 3.00 oz.

I really wonder where these are going to be priced at. I cannot imagine dropping $425 on any Liner Lock.
I'll get one or 10, but I'm hoping they'll be priced appropriately!

EDIT: I bet this is actually still a Ti frame lock, but with the lock-side scale acting as a lockbar stop. Just like the Viper Storm.

Wow, this news has me excited. I wonder when we'll see a release date and price?

Yes, I’m very excited! Hope they debut in some good finishes. Hope they’re hard-use, cause @ 3.0oz, they’re going to make great EDCs.
Now that I know that they’re really just a double-scaled full-Ti frame-lock, they’ll come in at $425 I’m sure...
I’m glad they’re coming in with at least 20CV.

ETA seems to be very soon.

Been talking with the GP Knives guys. There's a Slicer (WANT) and a Sheepsfoot on their Coming Soon page.

However, these will hit all the usuals within a day or two of each other I'm sure.

Oh man.... might have to have that Sheepsfoot.

Bet that Sheeps will slice. .12 thick blade...

Yeah, that sounds pretty awesomely thin. Interestestingly, as I'm comparing specs now, the 3" skinny will barely be thinner in handle thickness than the regular 3". Just the blade stock is thinned down, not the handle slabs as well. Which I think makes sense, given how thick they'll probably need to be to be liners+g10 scales on both sides. Just an interesting contrast to the 3.5" skinnys that thinned down both the blade stock and the handle scale thickness.

Yeah, I noticed that. Honestly wouldn’t have been upset if it didn’t have the lock-side scale, per usual Hinderer XM-18. I think the weight drop is enough to be quite noticeable though.
I fear that Skinny 3.0 hardware / scales will be unobtanium. It’s hard enough finding Skinny stuff now, and some of it doesn’t even exist yet... That’s why I said I hope finishes and color combos are gtg from the start, cause we might be stuck with ‘em. :) The horror!

Yeah, I’ve been waiting for 3.5” skinny scales since they knives came out. Still nothin, but I keep hoping!

Even Full Track scales are non-existent, and that’s a mainstream knife.
I think Rick does that stuff on purpose, lol. It’s probably in some Marketing Theory 101 book or something.

I’ve been waiting on a 3.5 Skinny!

Those look really cool Whitty. Love the purple.
If only I wasn’t adverse to the color ano fingerprinting! Most don’t mind it one bit, but it drives me nuts.
When/if you ever start tumbling, a la Battle Colors that don’t finger print, I’m in!
A Battle Purple or Battle Bright Blue with the Stonewashed blades would be awesome.
Have you ever ano’d a Working Finish knife? How did it turn out?

Ive decided to finally lose my Hinderer virginity. For the last few weeks I’ve been looking up the various XM-18 models.
I had decided on a 3” XM-18, battle blue, working finish and with sheepsfoot blade. Unfortunately I didn’t realise that the 3” and 3.5” don’t share all the same blade shapes. I was crushed because the hinderer sheepsfoot blade looks fantastic and very utilitarian.
So the news of this 3” skinny sheepsfoot is really exciting. I’ve let my Australian Hinderer dealer know I’m extremely interested in getting one.
Here’s the GPK link: https://www.gpknives.com/hinderer-x...ock-stonewash-20cv-tri-way-pivot-flipper.html
No photo yet unfortunately but hopefully it goes up soon.

The working finish are definitely way less prone to finger printing. Interesting part is that the finish on the ti frame of these Full Tracks is much more like a Working Finish than a stonewashed finish. The purple pictured above really does not finger print. Not like a stonewashed blue or stonewashed purple would. What little finger printing you get from it looks more like a slightly darker purple. It is really cool. I will try to do a short video and post it for you over the weekend.
