Let's see some miniature knives!

Yehaw! Thanks for the pictures guys. Them are some pretty cool little pieces. Really like the Martin and Cox examples. Chuck, is the guard & pommel of that dagger made from titanium? Coop- out of all the knives you've photo'd, ain't there more minis you could share? Or do you generally not work with them much? Don, thanks for the compliments. Sorry I don't have anything new to share myself; been going through some bad times personally and ain't had any shop time.

Might as well throw this one into the mix - OAL 4 5/8", blade 2 5/8", made in the 70s. Double hollow ground.

I just don't see Ed Fowler making a minature.
Maybe Ed never made a mini, but that doesn't mean they don't exist.

My Pronghorn Collection
The top knife was made by me in wood, before I ever handled a real Ed Fowler knife. The minature was made by Earl Witsaman. The other two are genuine Fowler's. You can read more about it at.

To the best of my memory I have made 6 mini's. I believe that a great part of the history of lady knife will be preserved by those who collect meatures for they can transport and display many knives in a small area.

Thanks Ed. That's about the best explanation for the making of minitures I have heard. I have never been attracted to them, but they are interesting. Would sure like to see yours.

Here's another mini of mine. After James Mattis passed away in Sept. of 2000 I saw this mini puukko at one of the NYC knife shows. I bought it and wore it in memory of James. I had never heard of a puukko before James mentioned them. I learned a lot from James.

If you don't know who James Mattis was this thread may give you some idea.
