I just got a 10ftx12ft metal shed today that is going to be my storage/knifemaking shop. Would be just for knives if it weren't for the wife lol, but its a start for a broke welder like me. Lets see pics of your knife shack, give me some sympathy!

Next step is two sheds :)

Seriously,
Build a sloped shed awning roof over the door from two 4X8 pieces of plywood, some 2X4s for the roof frame, and 4X4 uprights. Some roll roofing will do for the top. Whole deal, maybe $100. Put your main tools on a rolling cart and roll them out under the awning. A folding table really will help, too.

Current Shop - It is just an insulated wooden storage building that was built on site for cheap

just over two years ago - I had just moved out of a tent into my carport shop

I live in an apartment, so my shop is my patio. my grinder is on a cart, and the workbench is on casters and is counter weighted under the bottom shelf to prevent tipping. the mill is new and will likely end up mounted to a cart like the KMG. everything is nice and clean because I moved recently and knew it was all coming indoors. I completely took over a whole bedroom in our apartment. if I did it right its the view from the bedroom door and the view from the patio door. (I am very lucky my wife puts up with this)

I always like these threads, seeing everybody's shops! There are some seriously clean and organized shops out there! I always tend to have a bit of clutter in one corner or another of mine because it's "technically" the family garage and gets some overflow of household items....but in the end it's all mine:D

Here is what my little slice of heaven looks like......hopefully that wall that has my CD collection on it will soon be the home of a surface grinder, keeping my fingers crossed I can find one locally in good shape.

You sir... are my hero!
I'm still arguing with my AOAO to see if I can put a bench style table out on my balcony...

Here's my start of a "shop".
setting it up...(the wheels have since come off that grinder cart since it was way too unstable)

My awesome horizontal grinder...which I'm sure won't last much longer using it like that.

Awesome. What is that horizonatel grinder on the left?

That's my long term goal is to have a nice horizontal, verticle, and spindle sander right in a row like that.

That is a horizontal that I bought from Brian Fellhoelter. He was getting ready to upgrade his grinder and I was lucky enough to snag this one from him. Great machine!

Brian built the core, I added the motor, vfd, stand, and light.

Hey JB, any chance of getting a photo of the backside of that portaband mounted on the drillpress base? Moon.
