Sorry no pic but just wanted to add, I got a Case Large Stockman with CV steel and yellow handles last week and I love it.

By the Way, Welcome aboard.

Great thread, love seeing older knives. For some reason I find them fascinating. Keep the pics coming :)

Great thread ill get some of my yeller knives up to tomorrow. Think I got a Camillus pony jack and an ulster peanut and of course a case SBJ and slimline single blade trapper. Oh and maybe an AG Russell Rancher.

Question to those who may know...

I think I recall seeing one of our resident experts here on BF say that the yellow Delrin we see on today's Case knives first started being used in about 1967. Now I know Carl and others have said yellow Case covers have been around since at least the 40's. Was that a different material than the Delrin of today? If so does anyone have examples of these OLDER yellow Case covers vs the ones we see now?

Thanks :)

DuPont started making Delrin in 1960 or so. Any knives handled in a synthetic material before then were made of something other than DuPont Delrin.

Now that I finally have an IMGUR.com account here are some yellow delrin knives. All four have been carried over the past 4-5 years depending on the knife.

Three CV Case; Peanut, Med Stockman and Pen knife all with some pocket wear and patina (never forced!)
The last one is a Rough Rider. It is really well built and a great value for less than $10. Half stops on both blades great snap.

Thanks for the pics guys, that yellow delrin wears very well (or doesn't wear much actually!), it must be tough stuff.
