also tell me why you like the style, pro's con's etc. . . .

spent the last three hours driving over the pass thinking about how much i want one, so fuel that fire :D

Yeah sounds like it. The only piece I've seen actively described as a "reverse tanto" is the Benchmade 940, and it's really a tacticool way to describe a spey blade. :p

It's a beast ! feels really good in hand and is super sharp. i'm really pleased with how it turned out. comes with a kydex sheath as well.
contact Daniel Fairly on his subforum if you are interested, not sure about the wait time but you guys can discuss that.

True dat. And I honestly still don't know what a reverse tanto is, unless maybe its when the Lone Ranger's buddy is facing the wrong way on his horse. Though I think thats "Tonto".

well dont i look foolish. and so a cursory glance would suggest the style pretty much is exclusive to traditional slipjoints?

spey blades that is.

It usually is. Modern-styled examples don't seem very common. As far as the traditional "angular sheepsfoot" blade style, I believe they're usually called coping blades.

No need to feel foolish--you just didn't know! And that's how we all learn. :)

haha no worries i do not really feel foolish. well let me take this time to say how much i freaking love the look of the osborne. . . definitely need to get my hands on one someday.

The Microtech Select Fire is described as a reverse tanto. The term is being used by the manufacturers. Sold mine or I would post some pics.

Those models definitely have the closest profile to something that could be dubbed a "reverse tanto" in that if you flip them upside down the look pretty close to a conventional Americanized tanto.
