So what do you guys think, Combat Master or custom kydex with an ESEE back?

While the SpecOps is functional, it left me wanting more. I'd go custom leather or Kydex.


For kydex however, while I own the ESEE back, I rarely use it. It's pretty wide (I prefer something more narrow) and the 'hinge' is located such that the weight of the knife handle can easily pivot away from the top portion of the sheath if it isn't strapped down, for example when squatting or sitting. i like to keep my knife low-profile against my body to prevent snagging on things (straps, foliage, etc.). Also, the ESEE-back works for low-ride on the hip, but it doesn't easily convert to drop-loop or high-ride nor is it angle adjustable. My ESEE-back sits on a shelf while I use a "universal kydex extension" of my own design on all kydex sheaths. If you google that phrase, I've got a video about it.


If you go leather, just talk to Dwayne or whomever about the style/features you're after and he/she/they can make it right and I doubt you'll ever be unsatisfied with it :thumbup:
