Then we may have crossed paths, Neeman. (Likely since you know my old neighborhoods in NY to some degree.)

I worked on the 8th floor selling Mountaineering and Backpacking equipment. (Since climbing and backpacking were my two favorite outdoors activities at the time and for many years afterward.)

Did you speak to a young Engishman about trad snowshoes?

I was long distance winter camping in the Greens, Whites and the Adarondaks...

But to get back to the thread...

I have a Queen in amber bone that I use every week as my Shabbat Bread (Challa) knife.
A very beautiful knife.

When I first started using it, the girls raised their eyes and said "Daddy??"
Now they really like it!

You and me both, Neeman. Not the Green Mountains, but the high peaks region of the Adirondacks (in from Keene Valley) and the Presidential Range in the Whites. I used to trek to and climb Mt. Washington annually on Washington's birthday with a buddy or two. Talk about cold, deadly weather.
I may have even had a toothpick in my backpack though my fingers would have been to cold to employ it.

Dang Yablanowitz, that's a collection! You guys have all got some mighty impressive toothpicks! Only have one myself, sorry about the group shot:

I did not carry a Toothpick in Febuary 1977 trip on the Mt Mansfield (VT) ridge (-40)
And I did not carry a Toothpick in January 1978 when I snowshoed to Mt Marcy via Keene Valley.
And I did not carry a Toothpick in Febuary 1978 on my next trip to Mt Marcy
Ect Ect Ect...

Looked around for my oldies but goodies yeller handled ones that I know are around, but are hiding from me right now (was just reminded by the Mrs. that I should clean up my toy room:eek:) Did find this one though, Remington Stren limited run.
