• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Aldo and I have talked about all the blades that would be born from the lot of steel we found....I saw a few at Blade show......awsome knives by Ray Richard, lin Reah, Ed Caffery just to name a few. So how about it....we would love to see what you guys are making with it.:D
Mace

I've managed to do 2--and next week have a friend with a camera and will try to get a good shot of both............and Mace-thanks for the steel..azmike

Mace, I've got two more that I've been working on today and one where the blades is 15" long that I still need to get straightend out and heat treated. I can just barely get it in my oven. The one I had at Blade with the bamboo handle went to China.

Did you mark it "Made in the USA" or "Made FOR China" ??????:D

By the way, those Bamboo-za-la knives were beautiful. I really like the looks of that stuff.

haven't made a knife from it yet, will be starting a twist pattern bowie with it and 15&20 when I get in off the rig. Played with it a little bit and looks to be good stuff.

dang browser keeps shutting down when I click on this thread!

Ray, That knife was sweet. I would sure love to watch you forge....you can pull a lot of steel out of that bar. Nice to see you at the show.

Come on lets see those pics.

Finishing one up right now , should be complete in the next 24 hrs or so . The Blade that is , I'll still need to Sheath it ( Gosh Darn those *&#%!! things :) ) The leather one's anyway , they fight me most of the way. It's so hard for me to put a Forged Blade in a Kydex Sheath . I know, sounds like a personel problem eh ? Just one of many :D . Anyway,I'll post a pic in the next day or so . Just a worker,so don't expect much............ Hey , I heard that! :D ;)

Mace, If you can make it Blade West I'll be doing the forging demo. I just wish I could get alittle more steel out of the 1" bar.

Robert, Who know Mace probably got the steel from China. :D I thought it was ironic that I sold a knife to Chinese dealer with a bamboo handle. I'll be doing more.

Here is a pic of that Blade that I'm still working on. I still have some work to do on the Handle & Blade;touchmark too.Sheath.I wanted to post anyway to try and keep this thread alive.Comments & criticism welcome. Specs: Steel ;1084 (of course :) ) The Blade ended up @ about 1/8" thick & at it's widest point is 1 3/16" OAL is 7 3/4" Full Tang Construction with Green Canvas Micarta & Red Spacer , a couple NS pins & tube with a mosaic in the center. It feels really good in the hand. Thanks again guys for getting this material . I'm looking forward to seeing some more pics from others . Thanks
