The first thing I've been truly happy about in 6 months....

It really is spectacular, well done and finished. The color in the pic is pretty true, I see a nice mellow patina in its future....

I didn't want to junk up the sticky (which could probably be closed now....) with further effusing about it, and some other members have posted some fine pics. Let's see yours....

And before I get any more offers (most polite, I might add....) I would like to state that my second Jack IS going to be available in a GIW, I just haven't decided when or how yet.

I'm trying to stoke the "Holiday Spirit" fire, but it's not taking too well at the moment. There's a spark, I'm working on it....

I think I'm in for the roughest Christmas of my life....

I'll post a pic tomorrow.
Just wanted to say, our hearts are with you, Alan.

AKC....not a pattern thats overly interested me,but i must say they are a fine looking knife and no doubt are of fine quality...Wishing you all the best for the silly season..................FES

That's a special knife there, Alan. To me, Christmas is mostly a day off (without pay), since I'm not religious, yet I can't deny the feeling of loneliness I'll be feeling (and felt last year) with my parents living in a different state, when the previous 31 years of my life were spent with them (Thanksgiving as well). Words fail me because I cannot empathize with your loss, yet recent events in my own life have instilled me with the knowledge of the fragility of life. Time spent with those you love is important, regardless of an arbitrary position on a calendar.

Nobody's started one yet so even though I haven't taken any pictures of mine I know many of y'all have already taken pics of yours.

Rather than clutter up the pre order thread with pics I figured we could leave that alone for the "I got mine" replies and any related questions to missing deliveries and with this thread you can have one thread with all pics.

Post a pick of your 2013 GEC Half Congress Forum Knife, post your opening the package quick pics here, knife selfies, artistic shots and family pics, (your other traditional forum knives together with this year's knife).

Although I haven't read any complaints so far, I'm sure they'll pop up eventually so post your pics of your problems too.

If you have any issues with your knife please save them for the other thread, (original pre order thread) but if you want to post pics of you issues, (bad grind, proud blades, pins or backsprings) here and include a few words about it as well as initial thoughts on the knife as you get it, first impressions kinda thing.

So let's start the show folks, let's see them knives, (sorry I haven't put up a pic of mine yet but with the snow on the way I'll have some time to snap some pics of mine and post them).

I'm very happy with this year's knife and am proud to be able to tell people how it came about and the process we go through to get the knives made, everyone loves the stories and history lesson as I show the knife off.

BTW, anyone have a final count of how many were made, always love telling people it's 1 of 250 or whatever it is. In this world of mass production where things are typically made in the hundreds of thousands they always seem impressed when they there are only 249 others out there.

Alright I'm done rambling I'll try to get some pics of mine up today and now to quote a knife friend of mine, "...let's see whatcha ya got."

Thanks for merging the threads Gary, no point in multiples. I looked before I posted too but I guess I didn't go back far enough.

Wish I'd been able to get in on this. Going to have to wait and hope GEC comes out with this pattern in a regular offering.

Ebony and Ivory.........

(please pardon the bad photography)

I love this forum knife. Perhaps too much. I don't have any safe queens, but then I haven't owned any really expensive or irreplaceable knives. But owning this one means a lot to me. Maybe over the coming months, y'all will post pictures of it acquiring some scratches and patina, and I'll be able to bring myself to use it.

In the mean time, I went ahead and bought that ebony ez open boy's knife. It has pretty much the same blade configuration (maybe more sheepsfoot than lambsfoot, but close enough) I'm a gonna use it like a rented mule :)

Just to bring this up from page 7... (er, ahem, cough, harumph....)

Here with the other BFC Trad Forums I've garnered so far....

Now I know some of ya's must've gotten cameras for Christmas, c'mon!.... ;)

:D

Evidently, there's no love or pride in the 2013 BF knife, even by those that purchased them. Only five people have seem fit to post a picture of their knives in this thread. It's a shame. I'll make it six by posting a picture of mine.
