Let's see those 2013 Forum Congress Jacks!!!....

Ed-if I can wait You can wait, yes still waiting-I shall be the last to receive mine no doubt about that. I probably should get a prize for being so patient as it is not one of my many virtues.:p

I promise there will be a picture-I shall include some colourful Cicadas in the pic just before I feed em to the Bluetongues for a Xmas treat.
Anyone else still waiting?

Great photos everyone.

I like mine just fine. I just haven't had the opportunity to take any photos of it. Since they all look alike, look at one of the existing pictures, then imagine I posted in this space below:

Mine went straight under the Christmas tree, so I didn't get to open it until yesterday. The BSA stag handled Congress I received from my sons went into my pocket yesterday, so I've just put the new forum knife in my pocket today.

As a relative newcomer to the Congress pattern, I have to say this year's knife is without a doubt, bar none, my favorite of all of them. Since I only have a really lousy cellphone camera I won't try and post the very blurry color shifted shots here. I will wait until I have my wife, who is an excellent photographer, take a few snaps so I can do it justice.

This knife rocks!

Just to bring this up from page 7... (er, ahem, cough, harumph....)

Here with the other BFC Trad Forums I've garnered so far....

Now I know some of ya's must've gotten cameras for Christmas, c'mon!.... ;)

:D

Very good shot of a nice selection of Forum Knives. Quality of that stag on the 09 certainly looks impressive . I missed out on that year's:grumpy:

Of that group I only have the 10 Moose in ebony. The others I have are the 08 Small Stockman in stag, 11 EZ-Open Teardrop bone. STILL waiting for the 13 Congress (I'm in Europe). Pix you say ? Mmmh.. I don't mind spending on knives or art or cars (when I've got the € ) but for some reason photography fazes me, I'm convinced it's expensive, complicated and beyond me! But then I see very good pix from phones etc and wonder if a cheap camera could be feasible....suggestions via e-mail welcome!

Great Dead Skunk in there too!:D

Thanks, Will

There's a lot of love for this knife here, unfortunately my camera's on the fritz, as soon as I get my camera fixed or replaced I'll post a pic.

I think this year's knife is one of the most elegant, refined knives we've soon in 8 years, I think we hit this one is the ball park.

I think we hit every mark on this one, it's gorgeous and I can see the boys hangin' 'round the front steps of the local court house swappin' fish stories and talkin' 'bout the politics of the day while whittlin' on a piece of wood.

I believe you'll see a lot more pictures after the holidays, if not I'll borrow a camera and throw a half a dozen up myself. :)

I haven't heard anyone say they didn't like the knife at all, so far every one whose got one has really liked it as far as I can tell.

You may think they all look alike but each of these knives has it's own personality and look; therefore, each knife deserves it's own picture.

I would have thought that someone that regulary posts in the "Traditional Folders and Fixed Blades" Forum would understand that.

I posted mine the day it came (maybe that's it, I don't know) but I'll drop it in here too:

It makes me happy to see everyone receiving these great knives. Some of yinz are even *gasp* using them.

Mine's even got pocket personality now from bumping against my other knives and pocket stuff.

Now if I can just cut something that'll stain the blade, then I'll work on the natural patina, right now the satin blade looks too pretty to cut up apples and other food that'll hasten the natural patina that comes with unbiased use.

How do you think the satin blade will hold up compared to the polished blade from previous forum knives?

I'd have to go back and check but does any one remember if any of the forum knives were anything other than high carbon steel blades? I don't know why but I think the '07 Canittler by Northwoods was stain resistant.

If love to see a picture of this year's knife done Jim, (SharpByCoop) Cooper, heck, I'd love to see a family portrait of all the Traditional Forum knives. :)

BTW guys, great pics so far.

I have a local "Mark-It" place, the young fella there is fairly talented with the machine....

Since this is my first forum knife, I don't have a comparison that way, but from my own use, it seems like a satin finish patinas a little quicker than does a shiny, given the same steel, like on Tidioute vs. Northfield of a given pattern, under similar usage.

I just really haven't had an opportunity to take any pics. I'll get a pic up when I get a chance, ok?

It is a Pakistani horseman's pistol. It is an antique so it doesn't get shot. It's my parents', but next time I'm there I'll take a closer looks at the markings. The hammer doesn't quite catch any more when you pull it back. The bore is huge, probably about 50 caliber.

This one is for you Ed! :)
