Let's see those clip points!

The second group picture of Cases knives I posted is an older picture and I must say with some embarrassment that the seventh knife from the left is no longer mine. It is a knife I gifted to Sarah some time ago. Sarah - I'm so sorry for posting a picture of your knife without giving you due credit for owning it!!!! All other knives posted in this thread are mine.

No need to apologize, nor for embarrassment(!). I was simply piggy-backing on your picture (which prompted my post), and elaborating on a certain (greatly appreciated) barlow's clip point. :)

The clip on this 1999 S&M is just about perfect in my eyes.

I'm also a big fan of what I call the "peanut clip" as on this serpentine trapper. Long clip, full gradual belly, and nick centered on the peak of the spine.

If you like a CLIP point, you'd probably want a Case Granddaddy Barlow (top knife) 'cause its a honker. If you like Clips, you might want a Case Muskrat 'cause you get two in one knife. My favorite clip blade is the one in the third photo, a Schrade Walden 879UH. The two bottom Barlow Clips are nice, but I prefer the TC with its long pull.

I like clip points, long pulls, and pronounced sweeping swedges. That TC is absolutely gorgeous... Looks like I have another to add on to my "would sell a kidney for" list :)

Seriously, that looks incredible. I'd be jealous if the scarcity of it doesn't put it so far outside of my price / trade range that it's just depressing!

EDIT: Also, I really really really hope your username is an Asimov reference. I spent a lot of time in public transit with my eyes glued to those books!

Great idea for a thread. My favorite blade shape.
Here's a few of mine. They've all been posted somewhere in this forum before, but you've given me an opportunity to post them again.;)

Rob, is that Case standard Chestnut Bone, or did you dye it? The coloring is fantastic on this but seems much richer than the examples I've seen or had on other patterns.

Bob - I went to a Case Master Dealer's store when they came out and he had six Chestnuts in this knife. At first, I passed on this one because I thought it was too orangish and he let me look through them all. In the end, this one won out because it was the best made of the six and the more I looked at it, the more I ................. well you know. ;):D The remainder of them were much darker. The picture color shown is spot on. :)

P.S. - I refrained from taking it to the GEC Rendezvous with me last year because I knew Halfstop was going and I figured he might beat me up in a trade for it, since he would probably think it was Volunteer orange. ;):D:D:D:D:D:D

Nice to see all those beauties in one spot Gary !!:thumbup::)

That's almost my idealized clip point, right there. Hollow (?) saber ground long pull exaggerated swedge. It's what made me put together my Cold Steel Tuxedo Espada in the first place (without the pull, of course)
