I keep meaning to make more, but I've only done a small handful.
Here's my first, back in ought '10.
It was forged from a car coil spring. I made it smaller than is typical (simply not realizing that they tend to be larger than this is, which is a 1.5" wide blade) and being a lefty, ground it accordingly.
I've made a bunch of these little buggers. Very easy to grind, and I'd imagine very simple to HT. Most look great with just a skeletonized or bare handle too. Good knife to start with.
I made these two for a friend who is going to pair them with a sub compact pistol, in a paddle holster setup. Not pretty knives, as some I've seen here, but they are specific to a task. I hope its ok to post these here, since I had just posted a thread on these a little while ago...
First kiradashis!
Very learning experience. Much to know even in such a simple design.
These aren't ready to send into the world yet, but hopefully #3 will be.
How do you guys sheath these things?
1/8" A2, waxed. One chisel edge (it's a bit thin!), one flat with a secondary convex:
Daniel, I was hoping you'd post! I love your 'dashis, and also the pix of large batches of small knives at once.
Are your cord-wraps epoxied, then you squeeze the sheaths?
