LETS SEE THOSE MAGNIFICENT HARNESS JACKS

Well friends, after having gone through this wonderful thread of a great pattern and history, I have something to add...
My one and only (thus far) HJ.
‘08 #54 sandbar acrylic 33 of 50.
It’s taken me a while to find one and it is awesome:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
Trying to melt some ice and waiting for the spring sun.

Thanks to Duncan, Dave, Charlie, Rob and all the Others for this amazing knowledge:D
Please excuse all the “likes” as there are many:eek:

I'm glad you enjoyed the HJs, Un-Chained Un-Chained !! First time to find more than 100 "likes" when I booted up today!!:D
I started collecting HJs (antiques) many years ago, and they slowly disappeared from the marketplace, with the prices roughly tripling!! But I never got a current cutlery to make any until 2005! Bill Howard has overseen all of them, at Queen, then GEC!! Several thousand up till now!
You have a nice one, one of Bill's productions. He made some with various handles for his own dealers. Mine, on the #54 pattern were only made in Stag (without shields) and Ebony, and only a few were made!

Thanks Charlie I’m over the moon with this!!
Glad I made a first for you (likes) lol:D:thumbsup:

3-1-1 what a great looking 54 Clip point you have there

Frank’s equally gorgeous Ebony Spear as well! :)
John - there’s something about those 66’s that makes it so hard to take your eyes off them! What a beauty!
Unchained - what a neat 54 - great find!:) As they don’t come up often! What’s the pull like on that one?

Campbellclanman Campbellclanman thank you Duncan, I'm real happy with that big 54 and a big thanks to Charlie waynorth waynorth for making it happen
Un-Chained Un-Chained Gus nice fine , I've seen 2 sandbars recently and probably won't see another for awhile so hang onto it
6 pull is just right for me, that HJ#4 is about the same as Gus's Sandbar, I have others that are a bear to open but I sure do love them :)
I never had a nail problem until I got older, mine are kept short also and I try and stay away from smaller knives because they are worse to open

I know what you mean Tank, Half stops are meant to be a safety feature, well I can tell you I have had some darned nasty- and I mean nasty cuts from tough hard Pulls- then the Blade gives - and the momentum takes my Finger straight into the blade.
Thumb Nails - I simply cannot open basically any Knife ( well nearly unless its a 3 pull or less ) because my nails are so weak - it is always the middle Finger or second to smallest Finger on my right Hand.
Here is one HJ that haunted me for sometime, I actually haven't heard of any of these being an easy Pull, I owned three at one stage to try and get better, I cant actually remember how many I have left, one or two- could be two - one as a user, and one Queen.
I am not sure what Happened, but I had real trouble opening them all, it really shattered me because they were nearly unusable - but now I can open the - in fact I will go digging and see if this is still that case!

This bad boy 54 was one of my first HJ's ever Anthony ( Sunny D - miss this guy - he came back briefly but disappeared again) gifted me this Knife- Charlie and Anthony were the people whos DNA was on my first ever HJ's
This guy sharpens up like a Razor - been a while since I carried this one- just may have to fix that next EDC rotation..

When Charlie spoke of his Stag 54's with no Shield, I always ALWAYS hope that one day I see one of these for sale, I have the next best thing- as these two really do it for me - forgive me as I have shown this photo before..
