Let's see those muzzleloaders!

Hope it's a lucky hunter for you!

thanks, me too. there was one at the gunshow i was at the other weekend. i could not get a good sight picture when i mounted the "rifle". it was off line. i had to slide my head around pretty good before everything lined up. but, i don't remember that being the case with the one i hunted with. so, i hope this one will be ok. we'll see.

any particular peep site you recommend?

This sight used to be marketed by Thompson Center but is no longer manufactured. They show up on auction sites pretty often. It is very sturdy, very compact, and does not shift zero once set and locked in. For target shooting and load development you might want the aperture screwed in, but for hunting I prefer it removed and just use the threaded part for the rear peep. Super fast and plenty deer accurate. and yes, there are a few on the Ebay, some of them they are asking as much money as a rifle@! They used to be about $60 from The Log Cabin Shop, Midway or Track of the Wolf when they last made them. Your rifle is probably drilled and tapped for this sight. Don't forget the sling swivels!
