That Nessmuk is awesome. If you ever want to sell that, I'm your huckleberry.

Kirkwood,

You have three beauties there. The I-Phone pics look just fine. I like the blue theme you have going on.

McVeyMac,

Wow! You have a wonderfully varied collection there, and this is just the tapered tangs! I agree with M4 that your Koa Nessmuk is my favorite out of a most impressive group. Can you have two Huckleberries?

Have a good weekend guys!

Phil

Thanks guys. That Nessmuk is also one of my favorites. I have not used it much for anything except looking at and fondling, but Andy's interpretation of the Nessmuk is by far superior to any I have seen or held. However, if I ever go Huckleberry picking, I know which two I will pick first, and in which order (don't hold your breath, I have been blessed so far to not have to sell a single Fiddleback knife).

Honestly Walt, I hope that you have a long and happy life and never need to sell a thing. It is just fun to share our admiration for favorites in each others' collections.

Hiking Buddy. I liked the bolstered one better and didn't keep both. Although I wish it was 5/32.

Yeah that blue bolstered hiking buddy is sweet. I let a blue bolstered burlap HB go early on. Is that blue curly maple or KOA? I think an Esquire in that configuration, tapered and all would be top notch. I would love to see more bolsters with contrasting pins like the old school bolstered examples.

I do prefer tapered tangs. Y'all have many fine examples of that for sure!

As promised :)

The selection: Duke in African Blackwood, Woodsman with double bolsters in bone linen and mystery burl, Camp Nessie in Bloodwood, Hunter in African Blackwood, Bushraptor in Dyed Oak Quartersewn, and Hiking Buddy in Crimson Micarta and ridonkulously thin TT.

Naturally when I want to measure something the batteries in my micrometer apparently need replacing. The taper on the bone Hunter is less than 1/16", I think that is even thinner than the bolstered Arete I sent off to Comprehensivist. Need to grab some comparison pics tomorrow of the two Hunters.

If Fiddlebacks are ice cream, then tapered tangs are Haagen-Daz (or Tillamook, Ben & Jerry's, etc.)

Tapered down from 5/32", it measured 1/32 or 5/128 on my calipers; hard to tell with my eye at that size.

The pig is not for sale.it is a reminder to me that pigs get fed, but hogs get slaughtered. What ever that means.

Sorry guys, not much time to post and participate lately, but here is my Eucalyptus RUNT!!
