Let's See Yer PJ's...(Tomes That Is)

No,he dropped a dropped Tomes trapper like yours Ford.He still has that little lockback,AND a Bradshaw stag dogleg slippy, forged 52100,that I got from JTurner, and that one,is what I need a big slap for.
But I stick to my guns on this thought,I feel it is better to have and experience them, even though you may have to part with some as you go,rather then never experience them at all. Thanks to BF's and its members, you can do this,so Thanks BF's & members!

Oh, sorry Vince. I thought he dropped the lockback in the lake. Heck, I should try to buy it back from him then!

And I think Vince is paraphrasing Shakespeare when he says “It’s better to have had a killer custom knife and lost, sold or traded it than never having the knife at all.” Or something like that.

I don't live in a place with custom knife shows, but I have been able to handle some great knives thanks to BF.

Rob, I think this all means you have great taste in knives and we're following your lead.

All bought from PJ's table here in NYC over the course of 5 years :D

Sorry about the picture quality. It's been overcast and raining for two days and there is no end in sight.

Man, those are some sweet knives. I especially like the double bit hatchet. Looks Nessmuky.

What Mike said, Howzabout sendin' some of them up here to NC for inspection? I promise not to drop any into a body of water of any kind.

Really nice stuff there, Rob.

Rob, what a fine group of Tomes work you have. Thanks so much for showing those here. I've heard that Mr. Tomes stag work is truly special. Looks like you've got some evidence there to support that. That Bowie is just plain beautimous!!

Are most of those from forged 52100?

Ebbtide, that is a great picture of some really fine designs. Thanks for showing them.

No doubt, when you see these fine examples of PJ Tomes work, you can easily see,the "style of his own".

Ford, all of the fixed blades and the the two Scagel style folders are forged. The slip joint and the front lock are probably 12C27.
Whenever I feel depressed about letting some get away I try to remember Vince's wise words about how at least one gets to experience them for a time. Vince is a wise guy.... oops....I mean he is a wise man. :D

Hold on to your jaws folks, every one of these are handmade PJ Tomes pieces. I love it when I get them together even for a pic.

Pat has been making very nice pieces for a long time. Here is a little stag handle locking folder I purchased just recently.

That is quite a flock of Tomeses there, mjsamntha. I have a smaller version of that serrated knife. Really does a job on a tomato.

mj - nice collection, thanks for showing them.

2toes - that is a striking piece, and a fine photo. About what size is that one?

I just got turned on to PJ at the '07 Vegas show, with this Ivory and Damascus fighter. At the moment I'm waiting for delivery of one of his slippies. Mike

Thanks for all the compliments, we love all the knives. I do have to admit though PJ is my Father Inlaw, but it doesn't cloud my judgement of his talents!
