This is all I've got pictures laying about of right now...

im planning on doing a similar mod to mine but i was wondering what you cut the blade with?

Heres a few of my 8+ inch blade length knives

Missing are a couple of old Carbon Steel Tramontina Bowies, couple of Western Bowies etc.
I have a few 5 inch to 8 inch bladed knives that can chop decently, plus machetes, but i need to take new pics.

There are a few big ones in there.

How would you rate the Fiddleback Forge Bowlegged Chopper compared to some other big ones?

Man! I can't believe all these amazing custom big'uns! I foolishly thought the chopper market started and ended with big Busses (and kin), and some kuhkuris, rtaks, RD9s, and BK9s thrown in for good measure.

I really dig the Fiddleback, but it's a heavy beast. Handle look, shape, and feel can't be beat. Good for heavy duty chopping but requires more stamina than I have for prolonged use. Then again, maybe I'm just a pussy. I prefer the Bark River golok for all-purpose use. It's quick, fairly light for the size, and splits the difference nicely between machete and heavy duty chopper.

Oh yea, the chopper market is wide open. Here's one that Bruce Culberson just finished for me. Hasn't arrived yet but shouldn't be long. I'm all aquiver...or something.

Hay nice set.

Here is one of mine.

Made from M2 tool steel- an all hard power hacksaw blade.
OAL- 23", Blade thickness 3/16". Made for work around the yard, so the grind is crude.

I think that is a SICK looking chopper, I'd be proud to swing that around!

I know they're not even in the same league as most of what's been posted but it's what I have. All convexed by me, all wicked sharp (shaved my wife's knees with the forged machete!).

I was given the forged machete and the fighter in a knife trade and the machete is one of my favorites - tapered tang, rough finish, insanely sharp and very well balanced; what more could you ask for in a big knife?
