Let's see your Charlie SFOs

The Charlie SFO was only a spearpoint in chestnut bone, red bone, and ebony.
There was a Tidioute "Radio Knife", barehead, with a clip point that came out around the same time, but was of course not a Charlie SFO.

Is there any difference between a radio knife and the clip point caplifter? Is it just that great etch? I've got a reservation for the upcoming bare-end long-pull clip caplifter boys knife. But I really like that ebony and diamond unXld badge a bit better than the Washington Jack I just sold. Maybe should've traded for one of those.

Charlie can correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe there will be another shield with the UN X LD etched in it. I think he told me that it was a bit of a task to pin the shields to the handles without damaging the integrity of the etched shield. Charlie, please correct me if I'm wrong.

The upcoming clip point caplifter and the 2013 Radio knife will probably be more or less the same knife with exceptions including the long pull, the etch, and probably the bone jigging. bear in mind, this upcoming run is only the 2nd time the configuration has ever been made.

I think there are still some of Charlie's SFO Radio Jacks floating around on dealer sites.

Surprisingly, they are still floating around. I'm partial to clips and sheepsfoot- just never carry my Spearpoints. and my current play money is set aside for the clip cap lifter and red soup bone anniversary charlow in a couple weeks. Of course if I ever do want one in the future it won't be around. So it goes...

Perry, we used a plain shield on the Washington, because there was just too much detail going on, and I felt the simpler shield was better looking. But I would not rule out the "etched" shield on future knives.
The pin is welded to the back of the shield, so the face is not interfered with.
It looks like a "tie-tack" before it is installed!

Sure does!

Some archival footage from the run-up to the first of Charlie's Diamond Series, the Diamond Jack:

What have we here?

It looks like the shields are going for one last gambol before being herded into the Affixing Area.

Love the single clip version, the one Evan re-halfted for me is my favorite. Sorry about the chandelier reflections, too cold for outside pics. A matchpull would be a sweet addition.

John, that ivory TC Barlow is KILLER! I think it's my new favorite! Nice work.

Absolutely. Hands down. You better have your provenance papers on you if you want to carry it though. 😤

Yep, I know Barry has several of the Radios still.

I always struggle to find the words on just how much these knives mean to me, there are some rare birds in here...... I just thought I would take a quick pick while I was giving them a maintenance visit.......

So I will take on all on the left row good sir! :D

All kidding aside, awesome showing! I was lucky enough to pick up the 2011 forum knife, didn't really think about adding it to the Charlie SFO checklist.

Walkin in high cotton, Duncan!!! A feast for the eyes and soul...WOW!! Its only when you see a grouping like this do you get an idea of the magnitude of Charlies genius:D

Thanks guys, and yet I have missed out on so many, but Gev matey...you are right - Charlies dreams have become my personal Treasures.

Duncan....great collection of Charlie designed knives. It don't get no better my friend!!

KBA...lol, that left row would be a great score wouldnt it!!
