Let's see your favorite hunter

I was unclear.
I was referring to if collectors of both hunters and bowies would have difficulty choosing one collection over the other.

You were pretty clear - I just missed a whole line.

No contest for me if forced to choose - fighters / bowies over hunters. Just my preference.

Roger

Wow. Amazing. Since I use all the hunters I own I have a special affinity for them even over the bowies.

I use some that I said I never would. But such is life and I have enjoyed using them.

Roger, I agree with the others, your knife is top notch.

Even though I love the hunters and find them much more usable, I would have to say that I prefer my fighters. However, I would put bowie knives at the bottom of my list. Just too big for my taste I guess.

Ditto on the Cashen:thumbup:
I love the look of raw stag antler, but there is so much going on in that handle, AND it looks like it would be very comfortable too.

Here are a few I've loved before...

An older Don Hanson, Howard Clark, Al Dippold:

Still do, come to think of it... ;)

This is my favourite: Daniel Boll hand forged damascus with walrus jaw bone. It fits like a natural extension of the hand.

A hunter doesn't always need to be overly large, this one from John Perry
was one sweet knife, very sleek and easy to handle;

Here's a little hunter I like, made by Mike Williams, sheath by Kenny Rowe:

All very nice hunters. I have found that if you can make a clean damascus hunter for around 350 you can sell them all day long. well all makers know this is hard to do, with the way everything costs so much just one amber stage round is 60 bucks. to keep it in this price range I have been making this or something like it. this is a knife is for using and to save time I forge in both tappers.

Well, since the thread started out with an engraved hunter, I don't feel quite out of place including this one as my favorite hunter.

It's a D'Holder My Knife with original Julie Warenski engraving, dating from around 1988 -1990. In a rare fingergroove pattern.

I'm not sure these are my all time favorites but damned close. These are from Bill Ankrom and are now with a friend.
