I know what you mean about needing, though.. I'll be trying it on vegetables today.
And I'll see how it handles any coyotes that are drawn into my kitchen by the aroma of carrots and cabbage.
And onion.

[It did nicely on potatoes, carrots, onions, and cabbage. There was a little wedging of larger carrot wheels, but they didn't jump far. It also works well in a paring knife grip in the fingers, drawing the edge toward the thumb.]
