Sorry if this is the wrong forum....wasn't quit sure where to put it.

Anyways...I think with all the endless ways/materials that could be used to make micarta, it would be fun to get a picture thread going. I know I have some new ideas floating around and maybe this thread might spark some interesting ideas for others as well.

Colored checkered flannels, camo pants of various colors/designs, sponges (lime green/pinks/blues/oranges), denims of various colors (I think denim provides an interesting finished look)..etc, etc.

There doesn't really seem to be much talk on homemade micarta, so lets see some pics if yall don't mind posting them...

^whoa... those are home made?!? They look awesome! Can you actually use the fully micarta blades?

I'd bet that they'd find a way between someone's ribs easily enough, but you might not be able to cut your steak at dinnertime.

Beautiful stuff anyhow!

good stuff! it also looks like a great way to practice your grinds.

So far I have done 2 slabs and used one, but definitely gonna be making more soon; this is from a blue bdu shirt

Was a guy on one of the Reddit knife subs that had micarta made from burlap bags that hold coffee beans if I recall correctly. Point being it was the most 3-D looking micarta Ive ever seen. (who know he might be a member here too) was crazy good looking handle (appeared to have polished it up very nicely)

EDIT: I had to go see if I could find it and here we are: http://imgur.com/a/cJ1GV

Dude, that's pretty sick!

I need to look for mine. I've been wondering how different colors of scotch brite might look/feel. I may need to try it. :)

Great pics so far. Great topic too.

That is our material (our "Drunken Coffee Bag" pattern) I did not make the blade, but I almost bought it from the maker!
