Lets see your KMG grinder, MAP Arm, Caffrey Platen and rotary platen pictures......

I would kill for an attachment like that. I already have the wheels. Does Jamie sell just the multi-platen? I love the work rest, too.

One thing I'm not quite getting is how you lock the platen in place after changing positions. Is there a cam or something that clamps down on the axel?

If anyone would be willing to help me build something like this... I just don't have the tools right now. :)

This is a grinder kit from Jamie that I just finished with a rotating platen, using an 8" and 2" wheel with a home made tool rest.

Jamie does sell just the platen. The toolrest started life as a Beaumont. I cut the tuning fork arm off. Added about 2 inches to it and closed off the open end. Welded a piece of 2"x2" angle to the bottom of the toolrest and drilled and tapped fpr 3/8"x 16.
The knob and socket head screws have been replaced with indexable levers that are tightened to hold the toolrest anywhere within it's range.

Josh,

I do sell the platens separately. There's a set screw/bolt that goes through the middle of the tooling arm, loosen it, rotate it, and then tighten it back up.
