Let's see your leather pants!!!

I stitched it by hand. Im a perfectionist. Spent hours getting it perfect

Alright, Riz! and Grog - either of you interested in making a leather sheath for a Gerber A475 or A425? I just bought one of each, they are on their way to me (btw, there is another A425 on the bay with a sheath included, if anyone is interested in these things). I can make each a kydex sheath, but I was thinking of going with a leather pouch sheath for each instead

Riz, that is super clean looking, good stuff man!

Chiral, are those the old m2 Gerber's? Cool stuff. I've got about a month's worth of leather projects in front of me right now but I'd be happy to make something up for you as long as you are alright with a wait before I can get started.

Hey gtog! I will make one and you make one. A friendly competition of sorts

Yup - FFG, M2-steel @ 60-62 Rc, hard-chrome finish, "armorhide" (aluminum) handles. I've been wanting to try one for years but never pulled the trigger until now. I'll post pics in the "other knives" thread when they arrive

But yes, the "friendly competition" is what I had in mind :) I could just stick with my own pathetic kydex work or send them to a well-established leather-worker (e.g. leatherman Dwayne of armorall leather) but thought I'd ask you guys first. I'll post pics when they arrive, and y'all can flip a coin for who gets which. From my reading, the A425 has a 4" blade (I would have expected 4.25 ;) ) and the A475 has a 4.625" blade.

Haven't done anything in leather for Survive!Knives yet but I may soon. My new shop is still not built and I'm itching to do something. I can do leather work with hand tools and it takes up very little space.

These are some of the very first leather sheaths I ever did. From left to right, you can tell that the practice paid off a little but I have a long way to go. The half way decent one on the right is holding a little ESEE Candiru that I pimped with some blue/black G10 scales about eleventeen years ago.

I've got my 4.1 in there and it is in need of some pants. Might just go ahead and make leather and see how it turns out.

Well, assuming you ever get your 2.7, then i should get my GSO-4 LE or whatever soon (6 months to a year?) thereafter, and it'll be heading your way! Love the little SAK-sheath

The Gerbers arrived on Friday & Saturday, but this has been my first chance to post pics. Grog and Riz, tell me which one each of you would prefer to sheath and e-mail me your addresses (along with price demands, etc :D ) and I'll ship'm your way.

Also, let me know if anyone cannot see the images embedded below - google-photos apprently sucks now, so i am not sure how durable the links will be:

The blade looks bent in the last pic, but it is just a trick of the light. The handles are very comfortably shaped, but being aluminum they are very cold to handle out of doors just now ;)

Well chiral, I'm afraid it's going to cost you one meeeeeellion dollars! :D

I'd be happy to make a sheath for either and as far as the price I'm good with whatever you and/or Riz decide on, it's all good to me!

The images show up great for me on PC.

Those pocket sheaths look awesome man. How do you go about your stitching? I use an overstitch wheel and punch the holes with an awl chucked up in my drill press but it seems like there's a lot more than two ways to skin a cat. Regardless, that is some clean stitching!

I recently received a beautiful hand made sheath from grogimus. It fits a my 4.7 through my 7/7 and a few of my Busse knives like the RMD and SAR6. I'll post a separate review of it later today in a separate thread but here are a few pictures:

I love the antiqued look and design. The leather is stiff and holds all of my knives securely. None of my knives fell out or even moved much when I inverted and shook the sheath. I hope Grog makes more of these!!

OBX, you got the scorpion! Nice!

Very cool to hear how versatile it is. Solid design and sizing

That's a really, really nice one Van

If I don't keep distracting Grog with the XXX rated matters I PM him, he may be able to ramp up his production output :D

Well, the knives are heading out to Riz & Grog, shorter and longer respectively. Note, the knives are super dull, but I figured that would be better for shipping them around wrapped in cardboard. No rush on the sheaths, I almost always prefer the other two of that set of three options ;) Just e-mail me when you get them and when they are ready to send back. Thanks, guys.
