:) Well, not just National Parks, but in the spirit of the new rule: What guns do you LEGALLY carry in the "bush" when they need to be concealed? For me, these times would mostly be when banging around the Wildlife Management Areas and the National and State Forests when hunting season is not in. Here in Florida, you are not supposed to have hunting firearms in these areas if something is not in season. Some areas have some sort of legal game all year round. But for those that don't, firearms are restricted to concealed carry by licensed individuals. These guns may differ a bit from your EDC handgun. For me, many times around town I will carry a P3AT. But for the woods, and around town most the time, this is my CCW:

It's a S&W 340PD, which I usually load with 130 gr. .357 Hydra Shoks. I will also carry a few .38 FMJ and shotshells. In the woods, I will usually load one shotshell first, then the carry load. I have used the FMJs to dispatch a few coons and one feral cat around our camp. They shoot pretty much POA as the .357 stuff, and aren't as loud or brutal, and I figure they would be less destructive for meat purposes, though I have to take any rabbits with it. I usually carry it in my front pocket, though sometimes a use a belt holster if clothing and weather permit. It weighs 12 oz. unloaded, and is fairly accurate with the CT lasergrips. They also have a cushioned back strap that helps a bit with the recoil. I have taken a couple bushy tails with my little 317 kit gun though. It usually rides in my pack during the summer, or on my belt during hunting season. It's sole purpose is plinking and small game. I carry it to and from my deer stands for any opportunities that present themselves.

Here's short vid of me drawing from the RKBA pocket holster. A belt holster is quicker, but this set up works pretty well for as deep as it is concealed:

So what do you CCW in the boonies?

When need to conceal, its IWB. otherwise its crossdraw.

This is it, untill I get that S&W model 60 .357 2 1/8 bbl.

This is my EDC where ever I go:cool: the only thing I change is folders, some times it's my Coldsteel Prolite or Spyderco Endura4 waved & here latley it's my Bladetech Prohunter extreme  the Glock (mine is the 19) is IMO the toughest handgun on the market & I can trust it to do it's job everytime I squeeze the trigger ;)

But if I was going where the big bears are, I'd get a 44 magnum.

I'd love a snubbie .357 or .44, but for right now, all I carry is a Makarov 9mm in the woods.

Sometimes, when I don't mind open carry, I'll bump it up to a 4" .357.

No holster for this one yet, plus I need to swap out the sights.

Here is my constant companion in the woods or parks. It's a ruger super redhawk alaskan in .454 casull. I usually have it loaded with 330 gr bear claw bonded bullets. On the very rare occasion I go to town, I carry my kimber eclipse.

I had a gun at one time I used to take with me into the woods but I lost it in a terrible fishing boat accident. Oh well maybe someday I'll be able to get another.

Fonly. Jump through the hoops.

You actually have some freedoms if you are willing to work for them. For instance, you can still get Norinco (Chinese copies) M14's / M1A's in Canada. IIRC, your shotgun barrel length isn't limited to 18", meaning you can still get a short barrel shotgun. Rifles are available in sub-16" barrel as well. As long as they are Factory built and not cut down, you can get them.

It's a PITA to get a short barreled shotgun or rifle here in the US. Tax stamps, background checks, fees.

Your handgun laws might suck but your long gun rules have their good points.

My favorite CCW is the Kahr PM40 (40 S&W). It comes with 5 rnd mag with flat floorplate:

and a 5 rnd mag with finger extension:

and a 6 rnd mag.

I usually carry the Kahr with the flat floorplate 5 rnd mag in a pocket holster in my hip pocket.
