Everyone asks, what's your latest/newest, what's your favorite? Well I wanna know what's your oldest Spyderco.

Here's mine, Bought it off this guy guy at one of the first East Coast Knife shows, some guy Sal was selling these new fangled crock stick V sharpeners I'd read about in one of the sport magazines and he also had this ugly knife with a hump and a hole, a hole in a knife, have you ever heard of such an idea? Well Sal seemed like a nice enough guy and my wife was in a good mood so I bought her an 8" chef knife and I got this funny lookin' knife called the C01/Worker and something called the Sharpmaker to keep an edge on it.

Who knew? ;)

Let's see your oldest Spyderco... :) ;)

I've still got this original Pro-Grip Clipit hanging around, circa 1999-2000 when I picked this one up, IIRC

I also had a handful of original Clipit Delicas and a couple Enduras from the mid-1990's that I sold when the Delica and Endura 4's came out. Probably should have kept one of each of the old ones for prosperity. Oh well, some BF member is enjoying them somewhere.

My oldest, my very first Spyderco, dating from ***I believe*** mid 90s is this Spyderco "Q". It says "Spyderco" on one side in the plastic (FRN???) and "USA" on the other. I could not tell you what the steel was and the box is long gone. I will say that I had it on me when I was involved in an on-the-job single vehicle motor vehicle accident on 10/12/99 that nearly claimed my life. 6 months later, I was back to work. And though this little guy was ready for a lot more work, I decided to retire it and move to a different Spyderco knife because of our history together.

I once almost tried to sell it, but immediately started having regrets and decided to hang on to it. No doubt it will go to one of my kids when I move on to Willoughby. :)

If anybody knows the steel, I'd love to know since there is no blade etch at all.

Thanks folks, great pics and stories. :)

One of my other originals, the first collaboration knife and the first USA made knife and IIRC the first knife made in the Golden CO plant, this was probably 3rd or 4th Spyderco...

Here's a few more pics for y'all, although these have been sold (really old pics - sorry about the low quality).

Here's a G-10 Standard and two Clipit Delicas from the mid 90's:

Here's another one - a Clipit Rescue - I think I picked this one up circa 1997-98 (again, crappy pics):

WOW! I wish I could find one like that.. What is the style called anyway?

what was before the worker in 1981. Any pics of the ones before like the Portable Hand in 1976?

Wow - really cool Spydie right there, my friend.. Hold on to that one!

Yes, for folders. The C01 Worker was Spyderco's first production folder, and it debuted in 1981. In 1982 we saw the C02 Mariner introduced. And in 1983 it was the C03 Hunter.

Here's a good link with the models in order: http://www.spydiewiki.com/models/

Thanks for the link. I purchased my first Spyderco (The Hunter) in Santa Monica Calif circa 1983. I remember choosing it over the narrow pointy blade of the Worker. I had it all the way until 1993 when police confiscated it in Georgia. I remember that knife well because it was the only knife I carried all those years and it served me well.

Here are a few that I already have on Imgur. I've got some older that eventually I'll get photographed.

A Centofante up front with a Blackhawk, Renegade, and a big Manix 1 behind.
All in mint condition.
