Let's see your Osprey K/T

Those two Hunters are great, love the textures on both.

I'm finding a straight black g10 or micarta looks excellent on most all of these profiles. The Hamon Warthog from last week was awesome.

I agree I like all of my Profiles in Black G10 and Black Micarta of Course Natural Micarta is up there too.

Gives it character, can you clean it up a little, replace the handle?

I forgot what was wrong with it but it's a "dud".
I just attached it to the board and threw it back there as an unscientific experiment on the corrosion resistance of CPM 154

Soooo, what are your unscientific conclusions/thoughts so far? Since you have access to duds, could you do another set with A2, O1 and CPM154 next to each other and maybe post pics week 1, week 2, we 3, month 1, month 2, month 3?

Yeah, I know you're bored and just looking for stuff to do, but it might be interesting to see. :-)

i will look around and see what i can find.

That cpm154 is looking pretty good after being exposed to the elements for the better part of a year. Was that bare steel?

I had all three steels we use( O1,A2, CPM154) mounted and then realized the A2 blank had been heat treated. I removed it and only to replace it with a another O1 blank. Maybe if I have some spare time another day I will replace it w/ a A2 blank.

Awesome pics Daniel, I like that handle material on the EDU. I keep and EDU around the house and at the shop and use them quite a bit.

Thanks,, that would be an interesting experimented with the blanks. So by duds, the blanks were damaged or cracked grinds off a bit to wind up in the truck bed laboratory? I guess dud means dud, duh. :D

Nice photo FG...

Will either of these two become a "user" or are you thinking of keeping them in "mint" condition as collector pieces?

Thanks! I only got to carry the Mamushi I got from you a couple times before getting the new one. I want to keep them both, but who knows. The bolstered Mamushi will be sticking around for sure.

The only knives I own that I would call collector pieces are my colored alox Victorinox SAKs. Nothing exciting, but they won't be used by me. My kids will get some use out them later on.

The new Mamushi has already got a nick that I'll have to work out when the edge dulls (no fault of the knife. It took a tumble from a downed branch I had sat it on when my oldest decided to jump around on the other end. It must of dinged off a rock)

Dang that sucks! Looks like it should sharpen out no problem though! I like seeing the knives doing what they were meant to do.
