Lets see your paracord wrapped Izula!

I just gotta say I love this thread. The Izula is one of the best knives ever made. Love it!

Can't wait for the folder to come out. :)

im still having trouble deciding how to end the wrap. i hate having a knot at the end sticking out. as of right now, i tucked my knot into the hole, but i have pretty much lost all use of the hole in the process.

i find a good size knot dangling on the end give's you a little bigger grip area.
i do not have a camera right now, or i would show it.

only problem is, i usually carry mine under my shirt, and i like it to be as concealed as possible.

well its attached to my belt with a molle thing. im thinking about making come micarta handles for it instead of using the wrap.

iam kinda interested in the slabs rat's supposed to be comming out with
after the shot show. love some of the ideas here. you'll have to show us if you make them.

you could try "hiding" the ends down the center or along the wrapping. but im not sure if it would stay tight unless you went all the way back down towards the blade, pulled them tight and cut and burnt it. its hard to explain what im saying. if i get some time tomorrow ill try to grab a pic

If you look at some of my wraps, you'll notice no knot. I get to the end of the main hole, and just tie off one end back through itself. Then I wrap one end all the way around the hole, and slip it through the same as the other. Then just cut and fuse. The ends lay flat along the handle. I'll get some wrong side shots tomorrow

The trick is forcing in as many weaves as possible in the main hole. Then the pressure is high enough it won't unwrap, even if you only tuck once

Question: I don't have paracord yet...haven't had any luck finding any locally, but I was wondering, about how many feet should I measure before I cut it in order to wrap my Izula? I've never wrapped anything in paracord yet, so I have no idea. I just don't want to cut something that's too short.

Depends on the wrap. What I did was wrapped it without cutting it, took it off, then measured what I used and added a few inches extra.

harkamus- no luck at the military surplus, for paracord?

Nope. All the places I called were OOS. Might have to order some online. So far the only place in GA that has it is like a 50 mile drive both ways...might as well cough up shipping charges which ends up cheaper than filling up gas.

Yeah that sucks man, check extremeoutfitters.us, they are a tactical shop just outside camp lejeune in north carolina, I haven't looked lately but their prices on paracord used to be pretty good and they aren't too far, use code VIP10 when you checkout.

i just ordered some from county comm. they seem to be pretty reasonably priced.

good deal, did you throw any nick-nacks into your order they got some good stuff? Keep a peanut lighter in my psk, and a bunch of those little led lights around the house and in packs, oh and the folding razors too.

Here's mine. I used pretty much the method explained by mbassoc2003, but I left in the inner strands. You can see in the second pic where I screwed up trying to melt the two ends together. Oh well, that's what I get for using a 2 year old crappy bbq lighter.
