Let's see your PSK! Gimme some feedback Plz

Please explain your how and why's in the kit.

Maybe add a FAK and a bandana.

A Bandana is pretty versitile, I'll have to see if I can fit one.

Ah, FAK - the iodine when mixed 10x normal strength with water is a good disinfectant for irrigating wounds. The cotton ball tinder is soaked with neosporin, not vaseline because it burns like vaseline, but is an antibiotic. I have vicodin for pain killers, neosporin cotton balls for wound dressing to be held in place by duct tape or electrical tape. and i don't think im tough enough for this part, but I could file the barb off a fish hook and suture a wound with that and dental floss (OUCH!)

Ok, heres my PSK

great pic, thx

looks like my kit has to go on a diet!

Here's my updated PSK. Most of the gear in the first photo lives in a Maxpedition M2 belt pouch. The larger stuff in a jacket pocket or pants pocket. The phone is on my belt and the knife in my right front pocket. The watch in the watch pocket of my pants. The flat OD duct taped cig case contains a small amount of medical stuff, as well as MP1 tabs.

What's the name of that bag you got? I like the looks. Is it velcro? If so any problems with stuff falling out? Looking for a small belt carried PSK bag if you hadn't noticed.:D

No its a great little bag, Never had anything fall out, a company named Kuny's made it, I've never heard of them but I cant find made in china on it, But I suspect its there somweres. Its made from nylon And rides perfectly.

And Digispam, yeah if ya cant tell im a minimalist :) ( that was diffrent ;) )

I like your kit, longbow50.

Could anyone ID that grey SAK that Longbow50 has? I'm definately new to knives - I mean I have always carried this or that but nothing like what most of you all have.

What is that compass? It looks quite nice for the size. Mine looks like a Cracker Jack toy and I wouldn't want to rely on it too much.

I need to get hold of a camera.

I believe its a german version of the one hand trekker, with some quite foriegn name. Great knives, but I prefer the jumpmaster. I also like the firefighter, as it has
the one hand opening blade, and is otherwise the same as thejumpmaster, but I would have to get rid of the partial serrations.
I have an outrider that I like, but I much prefer the large vics with black scales, they have great liner locks.

Here is my kit from a while back.I have since read Cody Lundins book and have added many items.....I will have to update the pic !!!

The SAK is the Victorinox made, Bundeswehr (German regular army) issue utility knife. Except for the handle scales and lack of tweezer and pick, it is identical to the OH Trekker model.

The compass is sold by Marbles knives. Brass casing, probably made in China, but it works good and I like it's looks.

Next to the Dorcy light, I have another compass pictured. It's fitted into the top of the duct tape covered match safe, that holds my fishing and sewing kit.

ah, thanks

i like it. some good ideas.

im gonna go get a trekker in my hands and see about a compass

Here is what I am lugging around in a Camelbak Striker:

Mine is about 99% the same, although I add a pot and an Adventure Medical bivy and a garbage bag or two. I'm really stuck on hydration packs for bug-out bags and PSK's. No one takes a second glance and they are built for making tracks. They are inexpensive and the availability and variation is near infinite. With a little water and a little shelter, you can make it through just about anything for a couple nights.
